My parents and Scott's were good friends and his Mom provided daycare for me and my siblings for a very long time.  I am so sorry to hear of his passing.  Hope and wishes of soothing for Scott and his family.

In the first few weeks of my Sophomore year at Meadowdale I gained two fast friends, Scott MacPherson and Tony Stainbrook.  Though many of you knew them in Grade School and Junior High, I was privilege to know them the rest of the way.  In fact, we became so close that we joked that we had each gained two more sets of parents and families.

When Nanette, Scott’s wife, called to let me know Scott had passed I filled the next weeks recalling the memories we shared these last five decades.  College, marriage, children and all sorts of jobs and cars and years of shared hopes, dreams, and gains, ran through my thoughts in an endless stream of memories. .

But best of all, I remembered we shared the greatest tie that can bind humans together, we loved and served our God.  I fondly recall the years we studied and deepened our knowledge of our faith at college, and how upon every meeting we freely spoke of things we had learned/found and encouraged each other to continue to walk as brothers in Christ.

I have lost a quiet, witty, and steady friend…for a while.

Thank you, Sheri and Frank for posting your comments about Scott.   As kids, we went to Lynnwood Baptist church which was across the street from Maple Park Elementary.   He lived close to my grandmother and cousins so I saw him in passing regularly, but we were never friends.   He was very quiet and I was very shy.  It was good hearing those details about his life.

I am sorry to hear of Scott's passing.  We were in a class or two during our time at Maple Park Elementary - such a nice, quiet great person.  He will be missed.
