In Memory

Jane Williams (Vaughn)

Jane Williams (Vaughn)

Hello everyone, this is Sarah Vaughn, Jane Williams Vaughn's daughter.  I wanted to let all of you know that Mom died on October 20, 2021 at home in Lewistown Idaho.  Her brother and I were with her when she passed and she was peaceful and in no pain.  Thank-you all for your friendship with my Mom over the years and I hope you are all doing well.

I'm so sad to hear this news.   I wasn't particularly close to Jane in high school.   We had a couple of classes together.   I always liked her, ... she was kind, and funny, ... quite a character.   I'm really sorry to hear of her passing, ... I thought I would see her again.

I am sorry to hear about Jane passing.  I remember her being so much fun and such a great sense of humor!  RIP Jane - you will be missed!

Though we pretty much lost contact after graduation I remember Jane well. At 17 I was pretty much just a boy growing into mens clothing but Jane had already developed a mind that was more than capable of testing me and did so on more than one occasion. When most of us were writing banal yearbook comments like 'let's party this summer' and 'wish you all the best in the future' Jane wrote in mine "did you want to be different or did you want to be you?". I remember thinking I had been called out. Today I see that she was right.

I remember Jane from Meadowdale High, but also from Lynnwood Jr. where I did 7th grade before moving to Meadowdale Jr.  She sat in front of me in an art class and we had many fun dialogues filled with all the snarky Jr. High comments.  Jane was really smart and had an equally sharp sense of humor.  All I can say, is that every time I see an "In Memory" comment on this site I am thankful that -- like Spocks father told him -- your assotiates have been men and women of good character.
