Dan is survived by his wife Joyce, their 10 children, and 18 grandchildren.
A viewing will be held at 10a.m. with the funeral service following at 11a.m. on October 17, 2015 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 9729 NE 50th Ave., Vancouver, WA 98665.

Dan and I attended not only Meadowdale, but were in the same scout troop at our church. What I remember most about Dan is that he was one of the most consistently cheerful friends of my high school days. Dan endured some of life's most challenging tragedies and always seemed to emerge wiser but still smiling. I'm sure he's still smiling.

How sad to hear of Dan's passing. We were great friends in high school and roommates our first year of college. It has been a few years since we last talked and visited. We always shared the good times we had together growing up as well as those memorable Boy Scout trip. He will be missed by many.
