This is so sad to hear.   I know John and Vicki had signed up for the picnic, and I was looking forward to seeing him and how he is doing.   He's had such a long battle with cancer.  I was thinking he was overcoming it.   We were friends in high school, ... tooling around is his Mom's 66 Chevelle Super Sport, with a bunch of other guys, but lost track after high school.   It was good seeing him at our 50th reunion, and subsequent picnics.  I don't know anybody who didn't like John.

I didn`t really get to know John  well in high school till we had our 50 year union , John invited me to his 4th of July parties.. Kim and I went several times and met his wie Vicki, some family members, neighbors and of course Rick Steinmetzer and Don Miller ( 3 Amigo`s ). Was a lot of fun talking about events for everyone after high school and what they were currently doing. I always came early to talk to John and Vicki and help with the BBQ details. John had a remarable positive attitude with the many years of going through cancer tretments, he ran into Greg Anabel several times at the cancer care center in Seattle. John was a very good person and I`m glad a had the chance to know this great guy,

So sorry to hear about John, and his long struggle with cancer - he was such a nice person.  So sorry for his family.
