Terry Klimpel

Terry Mark Klimpel, Sr.

East Wenatchee, WA

Terry was born to Arnie and Eva Klimpel in Birmingham, AL, on August 23, 1948. Terry passed away at home in East Wenatchee, WA, on September 2, 2018, surrounded by love, his family, and life-long friends.

Terry and his wife of 47 years, Marilou, resided and raised their children: T.J., Marnie, and Jeff, in Whatcom County, WA, for 36 years. Terry worked for the City of Lynden, retiring as the Public Works Director. Soon after, he became the manager of Lake Samish Water District. In 2007, Terry officially retired so he and Marilou could follow their dream of moving to the Wenatchee Valley in 2008.

Throughout his life, he enjoyed his adventure of working on the Alaska Pipeline, fishing, camping, working on vehicles, building with wood, walking the loop trail, and most of all, spending time with family and friends. He was a very honest man with an infectious smile and calming presence. He will be greatly missed.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marilou; his children: T.J.(Kari) Klimpel, Marnie (John) Simmons, and Jeff Klimpel. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, special joys in his life: Ben, Ruby, and Clara; his sister, Claudia (Mike) Ross; and many dear family members and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at Chapel of the Valley, 302 9th St., Wenatchee, WA, on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at 2:00 p.m., with Chaplain Jamie Wilhite officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Terry’s name may be made to CWH Hospice Services, 1020 N. Wenatchee Ave., Wenatchee, WA, 98801. Arrangements in care of Chapel of the Valley, Wenatchee, WA.
