Annalu “Lu” Marthaler Farber
February 8, 1949 - March 25, 2018
In loving memory of Annalu Farber, who passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on March 25, 2018, in Tacoma, Washington. Annalu focused her life on helping others through difficult transitions by accompanying and supporting them in achieving their highest potential be it through her banking career, the many non-profits she helped lead and support, or through her own engagement in spiritual direction. She made everyone she met feel loved and she especially loved children. She could often be found on the living room floor playing and showing them how important they were to her. Annalu loved the outdoors and spent as much time as possible in the mountains or woods contemplating and connecting to nature. She also loved reading poetry, dancing and singing, attending the theater, and strengthening her community. Annalu was born on February 8, 1949, the middle child of Charles Gordon and Betty Ruth (Wilcox) Marthaler. She was married on July 27, 1997 to Stuart Julian Farber. Annalu was preceded in death by both of her parents and her husband, Stuart Farber. Annalu is survived by her two sons and their spouses Bryan Baggenstos (Melinda) and Saul Farber (Michelle); two brothers James "Marty" Marthaler and Ray "Buz" Marthaler; four grandchildren, Tyler Baggenstos, Katelen Baggenstos, Maxwell Farber and June Farber; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. There will be a brief graveside service held on Sunday, April 22nd at 9:30am at Home of Peace Cemetery in Lakewood, WA followed by a Celebration of Life service at Harmony Hill 7362 WA-106, Union, WA 98592 at 12:30pm.
